We had the luxury of two nights and a full day in Shanghai. So it did give us a few spare hours to take a look at this vibrant city
But it was soon back to work. At lunch time we met with the Queensland Trade and Investment Commissioner Zijian Zhang and Ying Xu the Businessr Development Manger from his office. It was good to meet up with the Commissioner - he has had this role for 14 years so I have met him a few times before. It was also good to meet up with Ying Xu - in fact she had been to the Rocky Campus of CQUniversity just three weeks before our visit. We I had met her and a large delegation on that occasion.
We viewed a good briefing from the Queensland offer and came up with a number of ways that it could help us in China in the future.
In the evening we held an Alumni event in the Peace Hotel on the Bund
It was a good chance for the Chancellor to meet up with a number of former students.
We also invited partners from other universities and agent organisations. Everyone seemed very interested to hear about developments at the CQuniversity and how we intend to engage with China in the future
So up early 4.45am to make our way to the airport. We have just arrived in Beijing. Busy schedule here - news of it later!
