Getting into Uni is always possible

Last week was an important one for recent school leavers across Queensland, with major round offers being released by QTAC, VTAC and UTAC. I am sure the lead up to last Wednesday was a stressful one for many.

I hope everyone got offered exactly what they wanted but If you didn’t, then don’t despair - getting into uni is always possible. Firstly, another round of offers goes out in February (so you might get the good news then). Secondly, you shouldn’t forget that there are also a number of other pathways to take you where you want to go – in fact sometimes not getting into a course ends up opening doors to a whole new realm of opportunities. This isn’t just limited to recent school leavers either – here at CQUniversity we offer both school leavers and non-school leavers with a great range of access and preparatory programs which set great foundations for tertiary study.

My best advice would be to contact the uni you want to study at and ask to speak to someone about alternative entry pathways. There is always someone willing to help you out and give you all the information you need. Most importantly however, you should just enjoy your journey and explore every opportunity that presents itself.

Good luck with your studies in the year ahead!
